Fiesta Island is a great place to spend the day, night, or weekend with your pet! Located near SeaWorld San Diego off I-5, Fiesta Island is a sandy peninsula in Mission Bay.
The island has many bonfire pits as well as lots of sand to spread out on. Some people camp on the island or bring their RVs for a weekend of fun. Even if you’re just staying for the day, Fiesta Island is an ideal place to kayak, stand-up paddleboard (SUP), sail, jetski, boat, and more!
The entire island is off-leash, but as cars and other vehicles are allowed on the island, make sure your dog knows to absolutely come when called and not stray too far from you. Many dogs enjoy swimming off Fiesta Island, but make sure they don’t go out too far where the jetskis and boats are running. Fiesta island is also a great place to teach your pup to kayak or SUP with you.
By following the road or for an added challenge, the sand, you can get in a nice 5-mile run, jog, or walk with your pooch.
Food and beverages are permitted, but no alcohol or glass containers are allowed. So the next time you’re planning a party or get-together in San Diego, consider Fiesta Island!
