Actress Emmy Rossum is probably best known for her turn as Christine in 2004’s Phantom of the Opera and for her leading role in HBO’s Shameless, but she has another important role to her credit: mom to Yorkie Cinnamon, terrier mix Pepper, and cat Fiona!
We love Emmy because she speaks out about the benefits of pet adoption. Emmy notably partnered with Best Friends Animal Society for their Save Them All campaign. “The wonderful thing about adopting from a shelter or rescue organization is that you save two lives, the life of the dog or cat you adopt and then another who takes the open spot at the shelter,” says Rossum. All three of her pets were adopted, including Fiona whom she found in Chicago after Fiona set up shop in Emmy’s trailer on the set of Shameless. Fiona is named after Emmy’s character on the show.
Emmy, who lives in Los Angeles, is often spotted out and about with Cinnamon and Pepper. Emmy, who has been singing since she was a child, grew up with lots of different animals in her household so it’s no surprise that now she’s sharing her own home with three very adorable pint-sized co-stars!
